Le Strade dei Libri is an Apulian book festival dedicated to children’s literature and illustrated publishing, created with the intention of bringing books, workshops, and encounters directly into the spaces of the city, fostering a spontaneous dialogue between stories, children, and the surrounding environment.

For the 2023 edition, I was commissioned to create the festival’s visual identity, developed around the theme of landscape and divided into four subthemes: Beyond the Landscape, Illustrated Landscape, Inner Landscape, and Narrative Landscape, with the aim of exploring the many expressive possibilities of the picture book.

An open book becomes the starting point of an evolving composition populated by fragments of stories, objects, paths, and symbolic elements. Rather than illustrating a single narrative, the image was conceived to evoke the feeling of reading as an emotional journey and a form of discovery, showing how picture books can become powerful tools for building inner and shared worlds.

The visual identity was adapted across multiple formats, including banners, printed materials, tote bags, and T-shirts, accompanying the festival’s travelling events and outdoor activities for children.
The illustrations became a natural part of the festival spaces, contributing to a shared experience shaped by books, the city, and childhood.
